ENFORCEMENT DIVISION

Patrol Section- Criminal Warrants Section

The Deputies assigned to Criminal Warrants are responsible for hunting and tracking down the individuals who area wanted on criminal charges that mostly originate from criminal acts that occurred in Clayton County.  We do serve warrants from other counties (at their request) if the address or location of the wanted person is located in Clayton County.

Deputies assigned to Criminal Warrants will also respond to assist the other Police Departments in Clayton County on high priority (armed robbery, shooting, etc) calls within the county.

The Criminal Warrants Section is currently working on a back log of over 16,000 warrants in addition to an average of over 350 new warrants that are received weekly.

To be more efficient and to have more accountability, the county has been broken down into eight (8) distinct zones and each Deputy has a zone for which they are responsible.  Our goal as an agency is to be able to assign two (2) Deputies to each zone per shift.  At current staffing levels we are only at about 30% of our goal.
