Working to Deter Crime The Crime Suppression Unit is responsible for crime suppression, criminal warrants, hospital security details, and general law enforcement functions. The unit was created January 7, 2013, and was created to prevent crime and to take immediate action should a crime occur. Teams of Deputies respond to problem areas of the county to deter burglaries, car thefts, drug sales, and/or resident intimidations or any prevalent activity. This unit operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The primary goal of the unit is prevention, followed by detection and follow up. As a result of our response cases are made.
The Crime Suppression unit is also tasked with:
--Service of criminal state warrants, bench warrants, and probation warrants.
--Warrants from other jurisdictions, both felony and misdemeanor.
--Securing and escorting inmates admitted to hospitals.
--Serving emergency committal orders.
--Enforcing traffic violations.
--Responding to critical incidents.
